The Canadian International Air Show (CIAS) is an annual air show held in Toronto, Ontario, usually over the Canadian Labour Day weekend, which is around late August to early September. This air show is one of North America's longest-running air shows, showcasing a variety of military, government, and civilian aircraft, primarily from Canada and the United States. The event takes place along Toronto's waterfront, typically over Lake Ontario directly south of Exhibition Place, and runs for three days. The 2025 edition of the show will be from Saturday, August 30 to Monday, September 1, with daily performances scheduled from 12:00 pm to around 3:40 pm. Notable performers include the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, the Royal Canadian Air Force CF-18 Hornet, the Northern Stars, and the United States Air Forces F-35 Demo Team. The air show features breathtaking aerial performances including aerobatics by military and civilian teams, historic and modern aircraft flypasts, and sometimes static displays of aircraft. The event can be viewed from several lakefront locations in Toronto, though the best viewing points usually require admission to the Canadian National Exhibition grounds. Admission to watch the show from many other lakefront sites remains free. In addition to thrilling aerial displays, the event celebrates aviation heritage and brings the community together. It also offers opportunities for families with activities, food stalls, and entertainment. Please note, the air show has faced some opposition from local residents mainly due to noise concerns and military participation.
