Axel Rudakubana is the individual who carried out the Southport stabbings in July 2024 and was subsequently convicted and sentenced in early 2025. He killed three young girls at a Taylor Swift–themed dance class in Southport and injured several others, with investigators noting a sustained interest in extreme violence and weapons. He was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 52 years; a whole-life order was not imposed because he was under 18 at the time of the offences.
