Cats can eat carrots safely, but only in small quantities and preferably cooked and cut into small pieces to avoid choking hazards. Carrots do not provide all the essential nutrients cats need because cats are obligate carnivores, meaning their diet must be primarily meat-based. However, carrots offer beneficial fiber and some vitamins like beta-carotene (which cats don't convert to vitamin A), vitamins K and E, potassium, and antioxidants. They can be given as an occasional treat but should not replace the main protein-based diet of cats.
