Yes, Fortnite has added proximity chat, but it is currently available only in a new limited-time Battle Royale mode called "Delulu." This mode launched on September 19, 2025. In Delulu, proximity chat is always enabled, allowing players to hear the voices of nearby players whether they are on the same team or not. This mode supports solo or squad play and encourages forming alliances through voice communication, with an option to backstab other players. However, proximity chat is not yet available in the regular Fortnite Battle Royale or Zero Build modes. To play in Delulu, players must set their voice chat settings to "Everybody" and access the mode from the Compete tab in Fortnite.
