Cats do have lips, though they’re small and often hard to spot. In cats, the lips are part of a structure called the muzzle, and a distinctive feature called the philtrum runs between the nose and upper lip. Their lips serve multiple functions, including nursing in kittens and housing scent glands that help with marking and smelling. For many cats, the lips are partially concealed by fur, so you might not notice them unless you look closely at the area around the mouth.
