Ed Gein was an American murderer and body snatcher who admitted to killing two women, Mary Hogan in 1954 and Bernice Worden in 1957. When police investigated the disappearance of Worden, a hardware store owner, they found her decapitated body hanging upside down on Gein's Wisconsin farm. Inside his home, authorities discovered gruesome objects made from human body parts, including skulls, bones, skin lampshades, face masks, and furniture upholstered with human skin. Gein admitted to robbing graves, stealing corpses, and making keepsakes and a "woman suit" from the flesh and skin of the dead, allegedly as part of an obsession with his deceased mother. He was found guilty of murder but was deemed legally insane and spent the rest of his life in psychiatric institutions until his death in 1984.
