Ed Gein killed two women. His known victims were Mary Hogan, a tavern owner whom he killed in 1954, and Bernice Worden, a hardware store owner whom he murdered in 1957. Gein also engaged in grave robbing, exhuming corpses from local cemeteries and making keepsakes from their body parts. There is suspicion but no conclusive evidence that Gein may have killed his brother, who died in a fire under mysterious circumstances, though the death was officially ruled an accident.
