There are 6 party members in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. However, an active party can only consist of up to 3 characters at a time during gameplay. If all active party members fall in battle, you can send out reserved members to continue fighting, but if those also fall, the game ends
. The six playable party members are:

- Lune
- Maelle
- Sciel
- Monoco
- Verso
You unlock these characters progressively through the story, and you can switch between them via the menu to form your active party of three
