Hakeem Oluseyi is an American astrophysicist, cosmologist, inventor, educator, science communicator, author, actor, veteran, and humanitarian born on March 13, 1967, in New Orleans. He holds a PhD in Physics from Stanford University and has made significant scientific contributions to the study of the Sun's atmosphere, space-borne observatories, dark energy, and various advanced technologies including ultraviolet optics, detectors, computer chips, and ion propulsion. Oluseyi has been involved in NASA scientific education leadership and currently serves as president of the National Society of Black Physicists and CEO of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific. He is also known for his work in science communication, public education, and media appearances.
