A common raven typically measures between 54 to 71 cm (21 to 28 inches) in length with a wingspan of approximately 116 to 153 cm (46 to 60 inches). They weigh between 0.69 to 2.25 kilograms (1.5 to 5 pounds), with an average around 1.2 to 1.5 kilograms (2.6 to 3.3 pounds). Ravens have a large, slightly curved bill and a wedge-shaped tail, making them one of the largest birds in the corvid family and one of the heaviest passerines (perching birds).
