Guernsey is a small island in the English Channel. It measures about 10 kilometers (roughly 6 miles) in length and about 5 kilometers (roughly 3 miles) in width, giving an area around 62 square kilometers (24 square miles). The island is the largest of the Channel Islands and sits west of Normandy, France, with a population in the mid-60,000s, concentrated mainly on Guernsey itself. The capital is St Peter Port.
