Jersey is the largest of the Channel Islands, measuring about 9 miles (14.5 kilometers) wide by 5 miles (8 kilometers) long. It has a total area of approximately 45.5 square miles (120 square kilometers) and a coastline of about 70 kilometers (43 miles).
Jersey is located in the English Channel, roughly 14 miles (22 kilometers) from the French coast and about 85 miles (137 kilometers) south of the English coast. The island is made up of 12 parishes and has a diverse landscape including valleys, cliffs, sandy beaches, and rolling sand dunes.
