The Hudson River has an average depth of about 30 feet (9.1 meters), but it is much deeper in certain sections. Its deepest point, known as "World's End," located between Gee's Point and Constitution Island near the United States Military Academy, reaches a depth of approximately 202 feet (62 meters). This makes the Hudson River the deepest river in the United States. Other parts of the river, especially south of the Federal Dam, are dredged to maintain depths of around 30 feet for commercial navigation, but some sections can be as deep as 160 feet (49 meters) or more.
