Jeffrey Dahmer died on November 28, 1994, after being fatally beaten by fellow inmate Christopher Scarver at the Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin. Dahmer was serving multiple consecutive life sentences for the murders and dismemberment of 16 young men. The attack occurred while the inmates were cleaning a prison gym bathroom without any guards present. Scarver, who was reportedly "fiercely disgusted" by Dahmer's crimes, confronted him in a staff locker room and then beat him severely with a metal bar. Dahmer suffered severe head injuries, was found by guards at 8:10 AM, and died about an hour later due to multiple skull fractures and brain trauma. Christopher Scarver also attacked another inmate, Jesse Anderson, who later died from his injuries as well. Scarver was already serving a life sentence and was convicted for both killings.
