Lil Peep died from an accidental drug overdose caused by the combined toxic effects of fentanyl and alprazolam (commonly known as Xanax). He was found dead on his tour bus in Tucson, Arizona, on November 15, 2017, shortly before a scheduled concert. The medical examiner ruled his death accidental, noting that the pills he took were likely laced with fentanyl, which led to respiratory depression and death. Lil Peep had openly struggled with drug use and depression, which he frequently addressed in his music and social media. His death at age 21 was widely mourned in the music community.
