Lisa Marie Presley died from natural causes due to complications from a small bowel obstruction. This obstruction was caused by adhesions (scar tissue) that developed as a long-term complication of bariatric (weight loss) surgery she had undergone several years earlier. She was found in cardiac arrest at her home and later died in a California hospital at age 54. The medical examiner's office confirmed the cause of death as a bowel obstruction related to her prior surgery, and opioids present in her system were not contributory to her death.
