Two hunters, Andrew Porter and Ian Stasko, both aged 25, died during an elk hunting trip in southern Colorado. Their bodies were found on September 18, nearly a week after they went missing around September 11 in the Rio Grande National Forest. They were last heard from just before severe weather, including storms and rain, moved into the area. Their vehicle was found locked at the trailhead with camping gear and wet clothes inside, suggesting they might have encountered bad weather. The hunters' bodies showed no visible injuries or signs of foul play. The cause of death remains under investigation, with autopsies scheduled to determine it officially. Weather, specifically cold wet conditions turning dangerous, is considered the most likely hazard they faced that could have contributed to their deaths.
