Amanda Knox spent almost four years in jail in Italy for the murder of her roommate Meredith Kercher before her conviction was overturned. She was originally sentenced to 26 years but was acquitted by Italy's Supreme Court of Cassation in 2015. Despite her exoneration, Knox was later convicted of slander related to the case and sentenced to three years, but this was accounted for by the four years she had already served in prison for the murder conviction.
