Formula 1 qualifying is divided into three sessions with specific durations:

• Q1 lasts 18 minutes and includes all 20 drivers. The five slowest drivers are eliminated at the end of this session.
• Q2 lasts 15 minutes with the remaining 15 drivers. Again, the five slowest are eliminated.
• Q3 lasts 12 minutes and features the fastest 10 drivers competing for pole position.

In total, the qualifying sessions last 45 minutes of track time (18 + 15 + 12 minutes), not counting short breaks between sessions
