The AP U.S. Government and Politics exam is 3 hours long in total. It consists of two main sections:
- Section I: Multiple Choice - 55 questions, 1 hour and 20 minutes
- Section II: Free Response - 4 questions, 1 hour and 40 minutes
Each section counts for 50% of the total score
