Adult cats have a total of 30 teeth. These consist of:
- 12 incisors (6 on the top and 6 on the bottom)
- 4 canine teeth (2 on top and 2 on the bottom)
- 10 premolars (6 on top and 4 on the bottom)
- 4 molars (2 on top and 2 on the bottom)
Kittens, in contrast, have 26 baby (deciduous) teeth before they lose them and grow their full adult set by about 6 months of age
