Adult cats typically have 30 teeth in total. These include:

• 12 incisors (6 on the top jaw and 6 on the bottom)
• 4 canines (2 on the top and 2 on the bottom)
• 10 premolars (3 on each side of the top jaw and 2 on each side of the bottom jaw)
• 4 molars (1 on each side of the top and bottom jaws)

Kittens, by contrast, have 26 baby (deciduous) teeth which they lose by about 3 to 4 months of age, replaced by the full set of 30 adult teeth by around 6 to 7 months old
