The United States Constitution has been amended 27 times. The first 10 amendments, known as the Bill of Rights, were ratified on December 15, 1791. These amendments cover fundamental rights such as freedom of speech, religion, and the right to bear arms. The subsequent 17 amendments address various issues including voting rights, presidential procedures, and civil rights.
