Bees have five eyes in total. They have two large compound eyes on the sides of their heads, which are made up of thousands of tiny lenses that help them detect shapes and patterns. Additionally, they have three smaller eyes called ocelli on the top of their heads, which are simple eyes that help detect light intensity and ultraviolet light. These five eyes together aid bees in navigation, detecting predators, and finding flowers with UV markers for nectar collection.
