As of October 14, 2025, there are 28 Israeli hostages believed to be dead in Gaza. So far, Hamas has returned the bodies of only 4 deceased hostages to Israel. Among those identified are Guy Illouz, a 26-year-old Israeli, and Bipin Joshi, a 23-year-old Nepalese citizen. The fate of the other deceased hostages has not yet been fully confirmed publicly, and the return process of remains could be prolonged due to unknown burial locations. Families of 24 other deceased hostages have expressed frustration over the delay in receiving remains.
