Canada officially recognizes two languages, English and French, as its official languages. However, there are around 200 to over 400 languages spoken in Canada in total, including Indigenous languages and languages brought by immigrants. Specifically, there are about 66 Indigenous languages, over 120 immigrant languages, and many unique dialects spoken across the country. English is spoken by about 86% of Canadians, French by about 30%, and many other languages such as Mandarin, Punjabi, Spanish, and Tagalog are also commonly spoken.
