The liver anatomically has four lobes:

• Right lobe (largest)
• Left lobe (smaller and flattened)
• Caudate lobe
• Quadrate lobe

The quadrate and caudate lobes are smaller lobes located on the inferior (visceral) surface of the right lobe. The falciform ligament separates the right and left lobes on the anterior surface
