As of the most recent reporting in December 2025, news and veterans’ groups estimate that only about 12 Pearl Harbor attack survivors are still alive, all of them at least 100 years old.
Current estimate
Reports around the 84th anniversary of the attack state that “only 12” survivors remain, and that none were healthy enough to travel to Hawaii for the December 7, 2025 remembrance ceremony. Earlier counts from late 2024 put the number of living survivors at “fewer than two dozen,” so the 2025 figure of about 12 reflects the continuing decline as this generation reaches extreme old age.
