In the WNBA, a player is suspended for one game after receiving their eighth technical foul in a regular season. This limit was increased from seven to eight technical fouls in 2025 to match the longer 44-game season. After the initial suspension at eight technicals, the player faces additional one-game suspensions for every two more technical fouls they accumulate (i.e., 10, 12, 14 technical fouls, etc.). Furthermore, the technical foul count resets once the playoffs begin, so suspensions do not carry over into the postseason.
