As of the 2025 season, there are 13 teams in the WNBA. The league expanded to 13 teams with the addition of the Golden State Valkyries, who joined the Western Conference. There are 7 teams in the Western Conference and 6 teams in the Eastern Conference. The WNBA is also planning further expansion to reach 18 teams by 2030, with planned new teams in Portland, Toronto, Cleveland, Detroit, and Philadelphia.
