To run for President of the United States, a candidate must meet these constitutional requirements:
- Be at least 35 years old.
- Be a natural-born citizen of the United States.
- Have been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years
These requirements are set forth in Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution. The age minimum of 35 was established by the Framers to ensure candidates have sufficient maturity and experience to lead the nation effectively
