To add or change the signature on your PAN card, you need to apply for a PAN card correction or update either online or offline. Here are the steps for both methods:
Online Method to Add/Change Signature on PAN Card
- Visit the official PAN card service websites such as NSDL or Protean eGov Technologies Limited.
- Select the option for "Request for New PAN Card Or/And Changes Or Correction in PAN Data."
- Fill in the application form with accurate details, including your current PAN number.
- Choose the option to update your signature.
- Upload a scanned copy of your new signature. The signature image should meet these specifications:
- Dimensions: 2 x 4.5 cm (Height x Width)
- Resolution: 200 dpi
- Maximum file size: 10 KB
- File format: JPEG only
- Upload any required supporting documents and your photograph if needed.
- Make the payment online via net banking, credit/debit card, or demand draft. Note that net banking payments may incur a small surcharge.
- Submit the application and note the 15-digit acknowledgment number for tracking your application status.
- Your updated PAN card with the new signature will be processed and sent to you
Offline Method to Add/Change Signature on PAN Card

Fill out the PAN correction form online but select "No" for the paperless application.

Print the acknowledgment receipt received after submission.

Paste two recent photographs (3.5 cm x 2.5 cm with white background) on the acknowledgment form without clipping or stapling.

Sign within the designated box on the form, ensuring the signature does not overlap the photo.
