To add sounds to the Discord Soundboard, follow these steps:
- Prepare Your Sound Files
- Use short audio clips (up to 5 seconds) in MP3 format, ideally under 512 KB.
- You can record your own sounds or download clips from sites like MyInstants.
- Optionally, trim your audio using an editor to set the start and end points precisely
- Open Discord and Navigate to Your Server
- On desktop or web, click the server name at the top left.
- Select Server Settings from the dropdown menu.
- Choose Soundboard from the sidebar
- Upload Your Sound
- Click Upload Sound or Add Sound.
- Browse your device to select the prepared audio file.
- After uploading, you can trim the sound further if needed.
- Give the sound a name and optionally assign an emoji to help identify it.
- Adjust the volume if necessary to avoid being too loud or quiet.
- Click Upload to add the sound to the soundboard
- Using the Soundboard
- Join a voice channel on the server.
- Open the soundboard panel (usually a soundboard icon near voice controls).
- Click the sound you want to play, and it will broadcast in the voice channel
On Mobile:
- Prepare your audio files similarly and upload them via the Discord app by accessing the server settings and soundboard section.
- You might need to upload your files to cloud storage first, then select them from your mobile device.
- The interface allows naming, emoji assignment, and volume control as on desktop
Permissions:
- You must be the server owner, admin, or have the appropriate role (like Create Expressions) to add sounds to the soundboard
