To change the battery in your Apple AirTag, follow these steps:

1. Hold the AirTag with the polished stainless steel battery cover facing you.
2. Press down firmly on the battery cover and rotate it counterclockwise until it stops turning.
3. Release the cover, which will pop up, then remove the cover and the old battery.
4. Insert a new CR2032 lithium 3V coin battery with the positive (+) side facing up. You should hear a sound indicating the battery is connected.
5. Align the three tabs on the cover with the three slots on the AirTag.
6. Press down on the cover and rotate it clockwise until it stops and clicks into place.

Be sure to keep batteries and small parts away from children due to choking and ingestion hazards

. You can check your AirTag battery status in the Find My app under the Items tab; a "Low Battery" notification will appear when replacement is needed
