To check the battery level of your AirPods, you have several easy methods depending on the device you are using:
Using an iPhone or iPad
- Open the AirPods charging case lid with the AirPods inside and hold it close to your iPhone or iPad. A status card will pop up on the screen showing the battery percentage of each AirPod and the charging case
- Alternatively, you can add the "Batteries" widget to your iPhone or iPad’s Today View or Home Screen. When your AirPods are connected or in the case, the widget displays their battery levels
Without a Paired Device
- Open the charging case lid with the AirPods inside and look at the LED status light.
- Green light means fully charged.
- Amber light means less than one full charge remains.
- If the AirPods are not in the case, the light shows the case’s charge status: green for fully charged, amber for less than full charge, and no light means the case needs charging
On a Mac
- Open the AirPods case or take the AirPods out.
- Click the Bluetooth icon or AirPods icon in the menu bar.
- A dropdown will show the battery life of each AirPod (the case battery is not shown on macOS)
On Apple TV
- Long-press the Home button on the remote.
- Select the AirPods icon in the sidebar to see the battery life of the right AirPod
On Android Devices
- You can use third-party apps like MaterialPods, AirDroid, or PodAir to check AirPods battery life after pairing your AirPods with the Android device
