To check your Wi-Fi password, the method depends on the device you are using:
On Windows PC
- If currently connected to the Wi-Fi network:
- Open Settings > Network & Internet > Status.
- Click Network and Sharing Center.
- Click your connected Wi-Fi network name.
- Select Wireless Properties > Security tab.
- Check the box Show characters to reveal the password in the Network security key field
- To view passwords of saved Wi-Fi networks (even if not connected):
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.

to list saved networks. - Run
netsh wlan show profile name="WiFiName" key=clear
(replace WiFiName with the network name). - Look for Key Content under Security settings for the password
On Android
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Select the connected network.
- A QR code and the password may be displayed (some devices require additional steps or root access)
On iPhone or iPad
- Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
- Tap the info icon (i) next to the connected network.
- Tap the Password field and authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode to reveal the password
On Router Admin Page
- Find the router’s IP address (often 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) from your device’s Wi-Fi settings.
- Enter the IP in a browser and log in with the router’s admin credentials.
- Navigate to the wireless or Wi-Fi settings to view the password.
- This requires knowing the admin username and password, which may have been changed from defaults
These methods allow you to retrieve saved Wi-Fi passwords without resetting the network or hacking. Always ensure you have permission to access this information.
