How to Close (Delete) a WhatsApp Group

If you are the group admin and want to permanently close (delete) a WhatsApp group, follow these steps:

1. Open the WhatsApp group chat you wish to delete.
2. Tap the group name at the top to open the group info screen.
3. Remove all members from the group one by one:
   • Tap each member’s name.
   • Scroll down and select Remove from Group.
   • Confirm removal.
   • Repeat for all members until only you remain in the group

4. Once all members are removed, scroll to the bottom of the group info screen.
5. Tap Exit Group and confirm

6. After exiting, you will see the option to Delete Group. Tap it and confirm deletion

Once deleted, the group and its chat history cannot be restored, so be sure you want to proceed before deleting

How to Leave a WhatsApp Group (If You’re Not the Admin)

If you simply want to leave a group (not delete it for everyone):

1. Open the WhatsApp group chat.
2. Tap the group name at the top.
3. Scroll down and tap Exit Group.
4. Confirm your choice

After leaving, the group will still appear in your chat list, but you can delete it from your device by tapping Delete Group in the group info screen
