To close apps on an iPhone 14, follow these steps:

Access the App Switcher:
Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and pause your finger about a quarter of the way up until the App Switcher appears, showing all your open apps as cards. -
Find the App to Close:
Swipe left or right through the app cards to locate the app you want to close. -
Close the App:
Swipe the app's preview card upwards off the top of the screen. This action will force close the app. -
Return to Home Screen:
Tap anywhere below the app cards or swipe up again to return to the Home screen.
