To cure a zombie villager in Minecraft, follow these steps:
- Trap the Zombie Villager
Build a small, roofed enclosure to protect the zombie villager from sunlight (which causes it to burn). Lead or trap the zombie villager inside and close it off with a door or gate to keep it safe
-
Apply the Weakness Effect
You need to give the zombie villager the Weakness status effect. The most common method is to throw a Splash Potion of Weakness at it.- To make this potion, you need a Brewing Stand (crafted from 3 cobblestones and 1 blaze rod).
- Brew a Potion of Weakness by combining a Water Bottle and a Fermented Spider Eye (crafted from a spider eye, sugar, and a brown mushroom).
- Then add Gunpowder to make it a Splash Potion, which can be thrown
- Feed the Zombie Villager a Golden Apple
While the zombie villager is under the Weakness effect, approach it and use a Golden Apple on it. This will start the curing process, indicated by the zombie villager shaking and emitting red particles
* Golden Apple is crafted with 8 gold ingots surrounding an apple on a crafting table
- Wait for the Transformation
After a few minutes (usually 2 to 5), the zombie villager will turn back into a normal villager
Additional Notes:
- Make sure the zombie villager is protected from sunlight during the curing process to prevent it from burning
- Cured villagers offer discounted trades as a thank-you for curing them
This process allows you to convert zombie villagers into normal villagers without needing to find a village, which can be useful for starting your own village or acquiring villagers for trading
