To deactivate an Instagram account temporarily, follow these steps:
- Open the Instagram app and log in to the account you want to deactivate.
- Go to your profile by tapping the profile icon.
- Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top-right corner.
- Go to Settings, then tap Accounts Center.
- Select Personal details.
- Tap Account ownership and control.
- Choose Deactivation or deletion.
- Select Temporarily deactivate your account.
- Enter your password when prompted and select a reason for deactivating.
- Confirm by tapping Temporarily Disable Account.
Once deactivated, your profile, photos, comments, and likes will be hidden until you log back in to reactivate the account. This is a temporary action and reversible anytime by logging back in. Instagram allows deactivation only once per week per account.
