To deactivate a Facebook account in 2025, follow these steps from the Facebook app or browser:

1. Open the Facebook app or go to facebook.com and log in.
2. Tap the menu (three lines) icon at the bottom right on mobile or the top right on a web browser.
3. Tap your profile icon if necessary to ensure your profile is selected.
4. Go to Settings & Privacy > Settings.
5. In Settings, select See More under Accounts Center.
