To delete a section break in Microsoft Word, follow these steps:

1. Show Section Breaks
   Go to the Home tab and click on the Show/Hide ¶ button to reveal formatting marks, including section breaks

2. Select and Delete a Section Break
   Place your cursor just before the section break you want to remove (to the left of the break). Then press the Delete key on your keyboard. This will remove the section break and merge the two sections, adopting the formatting of the following section

3. Remove Multiple Section Breaks at Once
   If your document contains many section breaks, use the Find and Replace feature:

   • Press Ctrl + H to open Find and Replace.
   • Click More >>, then click Special and select Section Break (this inserts ^b in the "Find what" box).
   • Leave the "Replace with" box empty.
   • Click Replace All to remove all section breaks in the document at once

Additional tips:

• Do not try to delete a section break by placing the cursor after it and pressing Backspace; this usually does not work. Always place the cursor before the break and press Delete

• Make sure Track Changes is turned off, as it can prevent deletion of section breaks

• After deleting section breaks, review your document formatting, as removing breaks merges sections and may alter headers, footers, or page layout
