Materials Needed
Use a pencil, eraser, and paper to start sketching lightly. Add markers or colored pencils for final details like green clothing and a red hat.
Basic Head Shape
Draw a circle for the elf's head and add three light guidelines: one vertical down the center and two horizontal—one across the middle for eyes and one lower for the mouth. Between the horizontal lines, sketch pointed half-circle ears on each side. Erase guidelines after placing features.
Facial Features
Along the eye guideline, draw half-oval eyes with small pupils, irises, and eyelashes on the outer sides. Add arched eyebrows above, a small "V" nose at the center-bottom guideline, and a smiling "U" mouth with lip details. Sketch curved hairlines for bangs and sides, plus a short neck below.
Body and Clothing
Connect neck lines with a horizontal collar line, then add diagonal lines and a zigzag bottom for a festive collar. Draw a simple tunic body widening downward, with arms outstretched and basic hands. Add legs, boots, and a belt for structure.
Hat and Finishing
Top the head with a semi-circle hat base from ear to ear, then an upside-down "V" or pom-pom at the peak. Outline everything, erase extras, and color: skin tone, red hat, green outfit, and rosy cheeks.
