Here’s an easy way to draw a Christmas stocking.
Simple stocking outline
- Draw a tall rectangle for the leg of the stocking. Make it a bit longer than it is wide so it looks like a sock.
- From the bottom of the rectangle, draw a big curved “U” shape to one side for the foot, then connect it back up to the rectangle so it looks like a sock hanging down.
- Erase the extra inside corners so the side and foot lines flow smoothly together into one stocking shape.
Fluffy top and patches
- Across the very top, draw a wider rectangle or a bumpy “cloud” line to make the fluffy cuff.
- On the toe and heel, add two curved shapes like small ovals or patches, following the curve of the foot. These make the stocking look more “real” and cozy.
Hanging loop and decorations
- Near one top corner, draw a small oval or curved line loop so it looks like the stocking can hang on a hook.
- Add simple decorations:
- Stripes across the stocking
- Polka dots inside the middle band
- A simple star, snowflake, or heart in the center
- Outline your drawing with a darker pen or marker, then color: red for the main stocking, white for the fluffy top, and green or any color you like for the heel, toe, and patterns.
If you tell what age or level you’re drawing at (kid, beginner, more advanced), a more tailored step-by-step can be added.
