To follow topics on Twitter (now called X), you can do so in several straightforward ways:
Following Topics from Your Timeline
- While scrolling your Home timeline, Twitter may suggest topics for you to follow based on your interests and interactions.
- When you see a suggested topic, click or tap the Follow button next to it to start following that topic
Following Topics via the Explore Page
- Click or tap the Explore button (on desktop, it's on the left navigation panel; on iOS, at the bottom).
- In the "For You" tab, scroll through suggested topics marked with a chat bubble icon.
- Click Show More to see more tweets on a topic.
- If interested, click Follow to add the topic to your profile
Following Topics from Settings
- Go to Settings and Privacy.
- Tap Privacy and Safety , then Content You See.
- Select Topics to browse a list of available topics.
- Click Follow beside any topic you want to add
Viewing Topics Followed by Others
- Visit a user's profile.
- Click the three-dot menu (overflow icon) on their profile page.
- Select View Topics to see the topics they follow, which you can also follow yourself if interested
Unfollowing Topics
- From your Home timeline, find a tweet about a topic you follow.
- Tap the down arrow on the tweet and select Unfollow.
- Or go to your Topics list in settings and tap Unfollow next to any topic you want to remove
Following topics helps you see tweets from accounts you don’t follow but that are relevant to your interests, making your feed more personalized and diverse
