To join the Freestar Collective in Starfield, follow these steps:
- Travel to Akila City on the planet Akila in the Cheyenne system. This is part of the main storyline quest called "Job Gone Wrong," where you will encounter a bank robbery in progress at the Galbank building.
- Help stop the bank robbery by either persuading the robbers to surrender or using force if persuasion fails. Successfully resolving this event will lead to the next quest stage.
- After the robbery, the local marshal will recommend you speak to Emma Wilcox at the Freestar Collective headquarters called The Rock in Akila City.
- Talk to Emma Wilcox, who will ask you to complete a mission from the Mission Board. You only need to complete one task such as rescuing a hostage, destroying a pirate ship, or killing an outlaw leader to prove your worth.
- Upon completing the mission, return to Emma and the marshal to be deputized as a Freestar Ranger. You will receive a ranger outfit, a deputy badge, and a Deadeye revolver.
- After joining, you can continue the Freestar Collective questline, which includes several missions themed around frontier justice and space cowboy style adventures.
