To make a paper boat, follow these steps using a rectangular sheet of paper (like A4 or US letter size):

  1. Fold the paper in half horizontally by bringing the bottom edge up to the top edge, then crease well and unfold.
  2. Fold the paper in half vertically , bringing the right edge over to the left edge, and crease well.
  3. Fold the top two corners down toward the center vertical crease to form a triangle shape at the top, leaving a rectangular strip at the bottom.
  4. Fold the bottom rectangular strip upwards on both front and back sides, wrapping the corners around the edges of the triangle to secure the folds.
  5. Open the bottom of the triangle by pulling apart the layers and flatten it into a square shape.
  6. Fold the bottom corners of the square upwards on both sides to form a smaller triangle.
  7. Open the bottom of this triangle again by pulling apart the layers and flatten it into a square once more.
  8. Pull the top two corners apart gently to open up the paper boat shape, crease the bottom edges to help it stand.

Your paper boat is now complete and ready to float! You can reinforce the corners with tape if you plan to sail it in water

. This traditional origami boat is simple and fun to make, perfect for kids and adults alike.
