To make smooth stone in Minecraft, follow these steps:

1. Obtain Cobblestone
   Mine cobblestone blocks using a pickaxe.

2. Craft a Furnace
   Use eight cobblestones arranged in a square around the crafting grid, leaving the center empty, to craft a furnace.

3. Smelt Cobblestone into Stone
   Place the furnace on the ground and open it. Put fuel (coal, wood, charcoal, etc.) in the bottom slot and cobblestone in the top slot. Smelt the cobblestone to get regular stone blocks.

4. Smelt Stone into Smooth Stone
   After you have stone blocks, place them in the top slot of the furnace with fuel in the bottom slot again. Smelt the stone to transform it into smooth stone.

5. Collect Smooth Stone
   Once smelting is complete, take the smooth stone from the furnace output slot. You can now use smooth stone for building or crafting other items like smooth stone slabs or a blast furnace

This process requires smelting twice: first cobblestone to stone, then stone to smooth stone. Smooth stone is valued for its clean appearance and explosion resistance, making it ideal for modern and durable constructions in Minecraft
