To mute someone on Instagram, you have several options depending on whether you want to mute their posts, stories, messages, or calls. Here’s how to do it:

Muting Posts and Stories

1. Open the Instagram app and go to the profile of the person you want to mute.
2. Tap the Following button below their bio.
3. From the menu that appears, select Mute.
4. You can then toggle on/off to mute their Posts , Stories , or both according to your preference.
5. Confirm by tapping Done or the check icon

Alternatively, to mute just their stories while viewing:

1. Open their story from the top of your feed.
2. Tap the three dots in the upper right corner.
3. Select Mute and choose to mute either their Story or both Story and Posts

Muting Messages and Calls

1. Open Instagram Direct Messages.
2. Find the conversation with the person you want to mute.
3. Tap and hold their username or open the chat and tap their name at the top.
4. Select Mute.
