To refill a typical liquid hand soap dispenser:

1. Twist the pump top counterclockwise and pull it off the bottle.
2. If needed, rinse the bottle with warm water and let it drain so old, hardened soap doesn’t clog the pump.
3. Using a refill bottle (or a small funnel), slowly pour liquid hand soap into the bottle, stopping about 1–2 cm below the top so it doesn’t overflow.
4. Screw the pump back on clockwise until snug.
5. Press the pump several times to “prime” it until soap starts coming out.

For a foaming soap dispenser, fill it mostly with water and then add a small amount of liquid soap (about 1 part soap to 4 parts water), put the pump back on, shake gently, and then pump until foam appears.
